Who is Thom Browne:
Thom Browne is an acclaimed American fashion designer known for his innovative and avant-garde approach to fashion. He was born on September 27, 1965, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Browne is particularly famous for his reconceptualization of the men’s suit, often characterized by its shrunken proportions and close fit.
Career Beginnings:
Browne initially pursued a career in acting before transitioning to fashion. He worked at Club Monaco and later launched his own label in 2001!.
Signature style:
His designs often feature a distinctive grey suit and a red-white-and-blue striped grosgrain ribbon.
Women’s wear;
Brown expanded into womenswear in 2014 and gain significant recognition when Michelle Obama wore one of his designs to the 2013 presidential inauguration.
Leadership:
In 2023, he became the chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) succeeding Tom Ford.
